Why did you choose the Belk College of Business?

I chose the Belk College of Business because I work full time and I was looking to attend graduate school on a part time basis. The Belk College of Business was the only local institution that offered a Graduate Program with a focus specifically on Real Estate.

What do you do in your work?

I am part of a team that is responsible for the valuation of TIAA-CREF’s global portfolio of Real Estate debt and equity investments.

What did you study as an undergraduate and where did you earn that degree?

I graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill with an undergraduate degree in Business Administration.

What previous work experience do you have?

Prior to my current role, I worked as a research analyst within the Structured Products Research team at TIAA-CREF Asset Management. Before that, I was with Wells Fargo where I worked as a Financial Analyst supporting Wealth, Brokerage and Retirement.

What activities are you involved in when not working or studying?

When I am not working or doing school work, I am spending most of my free time with my 5 month old daughter.

What has been the best part of your academic experience at the Belk College so far?

The best part of my academic experience has been meeting my fellow classmates and learning from their diverse experiences.

How would you describe the Belk College of Business to someone considering a master’s program?

One of the things that I like about the master’s program in real estate is that most of my fellow classmates are already working full-time in various fields within the real estate industry, which brings additional real-world experience and application to the classroom.
