Brandon Vogler graduated in May 2017 with a Marketing major. He was a student athlete while at UNC Charlotte, as a member of the baseball team.
What major(s) did you pursue and why?
I am a Marketing major and chose this degree because of the creativity and innovation involved. I find the aspects of marketing very interesting and look forward to using what I’ve learned in the workplace.
Why did you choose the Belk College of Business/UNC Charlotte?
I initially chose UNC Charlotte for baseball and was not sure on what I was going to study. To begin with, I was undeclared and in the university college. After talking to many people and getting advice about the Belk College of Business, I decided a business degree would be valuable to have in a city like Charlotte.
What activities were you involved in when not working or studying?
I’ve been a member of the baseball team for the past four years and haven’t had much time to do anything else. However, baseball has offered me many opportunities such as participating in the Jeff Jansen Leadership Academy and completing community service projects.
What was the best part of your academic experience?
The best part of my academic experience has been this past semester completing the marketing consultancy project and being a finalist.
How would you describe the Belk College of Business to someone who is thinking about applying?
The Belk College is a great place to learn real-world skills in business situations while developing a better knowledge of all aspects of business.
What are your plans after graduation?
I plan to pursue a career in the marketing industry while keeping an open mind to different opportunities.
