Connecting With Classmates

The best part of my academic experience so far, aside from the actual classes, has been the connections I have made with the other students. These connections have given me the opportunity to learn about many different career paths and companies, as well as helped develop lifelong friendships.

Competitive Advantage

I developed an interest in Economics during my undergraduate studies. Furthering my education with a graduate degree has already greatly improved my competitive advantage in the job market.

Why I chose the Belk College of Business

I obtained my B.S. in Economics from UNC Charlotte and as an undergraduate student I developed a strong rapport with my economics professors. Their dedication and investment in their students’ success convinced me that the Belk College was the best fit for me. As a graduate student, I have been exposed to top researchers and practitioners in the field of economics.

Outside the Classroom

I am currently a graduate assistant for Dr. John Connaughton, a leading economist. This has been a rewarding experience that has enabled me learn from a leading economic expert. This experience has also given me the opportunity to teach an undergraduate macroeconomics class. Teaching this class has improved my presentation skills and has also helped me to understand the basic concepts on a more in-depth level. When I am not working or studying, I like to go hiking and fishing. I also love to watch European soccer whenever I can catch a game.

My Belk College Experience

As a graduate student, I benefitted from the Belk College’s dedicated professional development and career resources. After I graduated I began my career in economics with Bank of America.
