I pursued a Master’s in Mathematical Finance with an emphasis in Financial Data Analytics. I rightly believed that coming here would allow me to figure out where my interests and strengths lie and I would be able to choose the best career path for myself.

A leading program

Since the mathematical finance program at UNC Charlotte has been touted as a program that teaches a blend of quantitative skills, programming, and finance, I applied in hopes that I would be able to get into a top financial engineering program that had close proximity to both industry and academics.

Work and personal life

Currently, I am applying to Ph.D. programs. When not in class, I can typically be found with my family and friends at coffee shops or enjoying Charlotte’s local restaurants.

The best part of my experience

Being able to learn and engage closely with several of my professors has been the highlight of my time at the Belk College of Business. My professors have spent the last year and a half going above and beyond what is necessary, always making time to advise and mentor me.A big thank you in particular to Dr. Tian, Dr. King, and Dr. Depken (three of the core instructors).
