Operations & Supply Chain Management
Laura Kieb majored in operations and supply chain management. She was in the Business Honors Program and involved with the North Carolina World Trade Association.
What major did you pursue and why?

I majored in operations and supply chain management. Growing up with two parents working in the business world helped me pick what I wanted to pursue in college.

Why did you choose the Belk College of Business/UNC Charlotte?

The Belk College of Business at UNC Charlotte is unlike most business schools. For one, there is a city filled with many big companies about 15 minutes down the road. I chose the Belk College of Business mainly because of the job opportunities it provides during the school year and after graduation. When you hear many businesses come to UNC Charlotte to recruit, you know it has to be a great school.

What activities are you involved in when not working/studying?

I am a part of the Business Honors Program which allows me to study with amazing business students and gain more professional experiences. I am also involved with the North Carolina World Trade Association, which brings together different business majors to talk about international connections between businesses around the world through trade.

What was the best part of your academic experience so?

Meeting new people was definitely the best part about my academic experience. I have become great friends with many students. I also had the privilege to get to know some of my professors who are amazing mentors who have helped me with school and my pursuit to become a businesswoman.

How would you describe the Belk College of Business to someone who is thinking about applying?

The Belk College of Business is definitely somewhere you want to be. It is a very diverse community that allows you to interact with people on different levels of their professional careers.

What are your plans after graduation?

After graduation I plan to get a job, work for a year, then hopefully return to school to obtain my master's degree.
