Belk College Day of Service projects connect alumni and students through hands on service. “Networking in our blue jeans” promotes connections and interaction outside of the classroom or office environment.
This year, 26 alumni and students connected through 52 hours of service in their local communities. Special thanks to Cameron Jennings '08, '15 for organizing the Charlotte project and Jamie Rizzo '97 MBA, Matt Murrow '14 and Tim Earnst '09 for hosting the NYC project.
Charlotte Project:
Belk College alumni of all class years were invited to join us for a service project on campus at the Jamil Niner Student Pantry on Saturday, April 7, 2018. Alumni helped unload, sort and shelve donated food as well as organize and clean the Pantry's garage area.
The Jamil Niner Student Pantry provides assistance to UNC Charlotte undergraduate and graduate students who live off campus, do not have a University mail plan and struggle with food insecurity. The mission of the Pantry is to, "ensure food security, human dignity, and well-being on campus by providing in-need UNC Charlotte students with healthy, culturally appropriate emergency food. We desire to do our part in assuring that no person in the Niner community goes hungry and that every students has access to nutritious food."

NYC Project:
Belk College alumni living in the NYC region were invited to join members of the Belk College Alumni Council for a beautification day at Roger Morris Park on Sunday, April 8. Alumni connected through service while volunteering at the Morris-Jumel Mansion inside the garden.
