Ashish Sharma is an assistant professor of marketing in the Belk College of Business. He completed his Ph.D. in business administration with specialization in marketing from the University of Georgia. His research interests are in the domain of business-to-business marketing strategy, with special focus on inter-firm relationships, innovation, digital and social media marketing, and financial implications of marketing actions. He holds an MBA and a master’s degree in international finance from the University of Glasgow, Scotland. He has over six years of work experience at junior and mid-level management positions in modern wholesale, finance and CPG industries, and worked with Walmart, Inc. as country marketing manager before returning to graduate school in 2013. Sharma has presented his research at academic conferences, such as the American Marketing Association (AMA), INFORMS, and the Institute for the Study of Business Markets (ISBM), among others. He was the winner of the 2017 AMA doctoral dissertation award and has received research grants from Sales Education Foundation and National Center for the Middle Market.
