Brian Whelan joined the Belk College of Business in 2019 after a 20-year career in in the financial services industry, having held senior roles in marketing, corporate communications and product management at Morgan Stanley, BlackRock, Wachovia and Bank of America. Prior to joining the Belk College of Business, Brian served as Managing Director and Head of Corporate Communications for Barings, a leading global investment management firm with over 2,000 associates and offices in 16 countries. Brian is currently pursuing his doctorate in marketing at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, and his research interests include brand and cultural influence, consumer psychology and social media analytics.
