What degree did you pursue and why?

I pursued my M.S. in Mathematical Finance at UNC Charlotte because the program provides the necessary tools and instruction to progress and succeed in my career aspirations. The program combines finance and mathematics and gives students tangible skills in quantitative finance.

Why did you choose the Belk College of Business over others?

I chose the Belk College of Business over others because the Mathematical Finance program was started due to demand from financial institutions in Charlotte for a program that could prepare employees for the complex products and business practices they use everyday. The Belk College’s connection and proximity to large financial institutions in Charlotte provides unmatched networking and career opportunities.

Where do you work? What activities are you involved in when not working/studying?

I work at Bank of America as a Trade Support Analyst supporting their Corporate Treasury and Corporate Investments trading desks. I enjoy playing disc golf, golf, and tennis on weekends.

What was the best part of your academic experience?

Faculty in the Mathematical Finance program at UNC Charlotte are able to breakdown complex subjects and have the background and experience to instruct students on high-level financial concepts and practices. Furthermore, the excellent faculty are all very personable and always willing to answer questions outside of class.

How would you describe the Belk College of Business to someone considering a master’s program?

The Belk College of Business has great faculty located in a great city with many connections and a great learning environment for anyone seeking higher education in business.
