What major did you pursue and why?
I pursued a Marketing major with a concentration in Analytics and Intelligence because through doing an internship in High School I realized that I loved the business world, especially when it came to planning events and bringing people together. I decided on Marketing because I knew it would provide me with a lot of options when it comes to deciding the career path I want to choose. Quickly through classes and internships I realized that marketing comes naturally to me and I love it. I decided on the Analytics and Intelligence concentration in order to set myself up for success, as analytics is becoming more and more prevalent.
Why did you choose the Belk College of Business/UNC Charlotte?
A major reason I chose the Belk College of Business and UNC Charlotte was for the Business Honors Program (BHP). I knew being a part of BHP would not only teach me a lot of important skills, but also provide me with amazing opportunities throughout college and beyond.
What activities were you involved in when not working or studying?
I was actively involved in my church (Mercy Church), my college ministry (Mercy College) and the organization that I founded and was the President of, IntersectionsUNCC. My favorite thing to do is to spend time with my people. Whether it is grabbing food, watching a movie, or just sitting around talking – I love spending quality time with my friends and family.
What was the best part of your academic experience?
My internship with the Belk College of Business and the people I work with has by far been the best part of my academic experience. Through interning I have gained valuable knowledge that I have been able to take back into the classroom and into other internships. I know that I have grown and developed personally and professionally from my experience with the Belk College and I will be forever grateful.

I have received professional development for my LinkedIn profile, my resume, interviews, the job search and negotiations – which have all been incredibly beneficial!
What does professional development mean to you?
Professional development is about striving to be the best all-around professional. It is not settling with what you already know, but rather the constant pursuit of more knowledge, in order to best serve yourself, your co-workers and your company.
How did being a part of the Business Honors Program impact your experience at UNC Charlotte?
The Business Honors Program provided me with more opportunities than I could have ever imagined. It is through my connections with BHP that I was able to get the (best) internship with the Belk College of Business External Relations team and build a network that will last a lifetime. In addition, the priority registration was a huge plus that allowed me to not have to worry about getting into my desired classes at the best times for me, enabling me to have the opportunity to be involved in organizations and work.
What is IntersectionsUNCC and what led you to start this student organization?
IntersectionsUNCC is an organization on campus with the mission to empower students to maintain their faith in the workplace. I started IntersectionsUNCC during my freshman year at UNC Charlotte because I realized there was already organizations that focused on the workplace and organizations about faith, but no organizations focused on the intertwining of the two. I believe following Jesus is not something that just happens on Sunday, but rather a heart change that covers all aspects of life. Since most of us spend the majority of our time at work, I think it is important to discuss and learn about what it looks like to be on mission in the workplace.
What high school did you attend?
Athens Drive High School
In your opinion, what are the 3 best things about UNC Charlotte?
The INCREDIBLE people, the BEAUTIFUL campus and the ENDLESS potential for growth
What is your favorite class that you have taken and why?
Picking just one is really hard!
Marketing Research: I thought I was going to hate it (research!) and instead I found another aspect of marketing that I loved and was able to do a project on something that I am passionate about – the Belk College of Business!
Operations and Supply Chain Management: Dr. Khouja is a FANTASTIC teacher. He kept the class interesting and genuinely cared that his students learned. If it was not my second to last semester and if I did not love Marketing so much, Dr. Khouja would have easily converted me to Supply Chain.
