Why did you choose to attend UNC Charlotte?

I was drawn to UNC Charlotte because of the phenomenal business school and prime location for internships and job opportunities. UNC Charlotte is a growing school with new opportunities developing every day and that is one of the major draws to the University.

Why did you choose to join the Business Honors Program (BHP)?

Being able to listen to professionals in the Charlotte area and getting a head start on so many of the skills that are vital in the business industry is why I chose BHP.

What has been your greatest or most defining experience throughout your time in BHP thus far?

Getting to do a site visit to Bank of America in Uptown Charlotte and travel up to the 60th floor has been by far my best experience with BHP. None of that would have been possible without the network and community that is BHP.

What student organizations are you involved with on campus?

I have been heavily involved with BHP since my freshman year as Freshman Class Representative. My second year, I was Secretary and now I currently serve as Internal Vice President. Additionally, I have been a part of Housing and Residence Life as a Desk Assistant in Levine Hall.

Have you done an internship? If so, please tell us about your experience(s)

I have had two internships throughout my college career thus far. During my sophomore year, I interned with NC MedAssist as a Accounting and Development Intern. This company is a non-profit in the Charlotte area focused on helping the uninsured of NC get the prescriptions they need. I was able to assist the accountant of the organization with all functions of accounting as well as attend their yearly Executive Gala where they raise a majority of their funds for the organization. My next internship took place in the summer after my sophomore year. I worked with Spectrum as a Transactional Tax Intern where I aided in the tax audits of Spectrum. Additionally, I worked in a cross functional project with my fellow interns and presented our ideas to executives of the company.

How will BHP help you land your dream job or set you up for success after graduation?

BHP will help me land my dream job because of the soft skill foundation instilled in its members as well as all of the additional exposure that BHP provides that the average business student would not get. BHP has a prestigious presence on my resume and is always a topic of conversation in interviews.
