In celebration of the Belk College of Business’ 50th anniversary, the college is partnering with the Atkins Library to archive and document the college’s rich history.

As part of the pilot for the Living History Project, the Belk College is reaching out to nearly 50 retired faculty members to ask them to share their memories and insights through small-group video interviews. These oral history videos will be gathered and preserved in the University Archives and shared in Goldmine

"Our dedicated faculty helped transform the Belk College from its humble beginnings into a leading urban research business school," said Belk College Dean Jennifer Troyer. "Their memories are a colorful part of our rich history. Much like a time capsule, through this project, we aim to capture their memories, motivation and insights for future generations."

Small-group interviews will be video recorded starting in May as part of the initial pilot. The college aims to expand the project in 2021 to include alumni and current faculty and staff.

The initiative is part of the Belk College’s 50th anniversary celebration, which continues through May.

Retired faculty who would like to participate are encouraged to complete an online form by Thursday, March 11.

Students, alumni, faculty and staff are also encouraged to share their memories throughout the 50th Anniversary celebration.quote from Dean Troyer
