The Belk College of Business will present the Spring 2020 CEO Speaker Series on Wednesday, Jan. 29, featuring Donta’ Wilson ’97, chief digital and client experience officer for Truist Financial Corp.

The event, part of the Belk College Entrepreneurial Decisions Series, is free and open to students, faculty, staff, alumni and friends of the college. Wondering why you should attend? Here are just five reasons.

1.  Support a Belk College alumnus

Wilson earned his bachelor's degree in management in 1997 from UNC Charlotte's Belk College of Business.

2. Connection to jobs

Truist Financial Corp., which emerged last month after the merger of BB&T and SunTrust, is the sixth largest bank in the nation. The bank is headquartered in Charlotte with thousands of jobs in the region.

3. A member of the executive management team

As chief digital and client services officer, Wilson is a member of the executive management team for Truist. At its predecessor, BB&T, he led a digital transformation for the bank.

4. A philanthropic leader

Wilson also believes in giving back to the community. He and his wife are founders of I am My Brother’s Keeper Mentoring Program, which pairs underprivileged young men with accomplished male mentors.

5. Learning opportunity

Take what you learn and apply it to class, internships and your personal endeavors!
