M.S. in Math Finance ranks No. 13 nationally in 2020 Financial Engineering program rankings

UNC Charlotte’s Master of Science in Mathematical Finance program increased its ranking nationally by the leading review organization for financial engineering programs. The M.S. in Math Finance rose from No. 14 in 2019 to No. 13 in 2020 in the TFE Times Master of Financial Engineering program rankings.

“For the third year in a row, the Belk College of Business is proud to continue to rise as one of the leading M.S. in Math Finance programs in the nation,” said Dr. Weidong Tian, M.S. in Math Finance Program Director. “This ranking places us among the company of prestigious institutions like Cornell University and Rutgers University and demonstrates the strong reputation of our program. The exceptional faculty, combined with a customizable interdisciplinary program continues to fuel the growth and quality of our quantitative graduate programs.”

The TFE Times rankings are the most comprehensive rankings for graduate financial engineering, financial mathematics, quantitative finance, computational finance and mathematical finance programs in the country. The rankings are calculated based on several components, including average test scores, starting salaries, undergraduate GPA, acceptance rates and graduate employment rates.

Located in the second-largest banking center in the United States, UNC Charlotte’s M.S. in Math Finance is a STEM-designated program of the departments of Finance and Economics in the Belk College of Business and the Department of Mathematics in the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences.
