As the Belk College celebrates its 40th anniversary in 2010, we celebrate the strong relationships that have developed between the College and its alumni, friends and community partners. The College could not have grown so quickly and achieved so much, in a relatively short period of time, without the generosity of those individuals and companies who believe in the College and its mission.

Although UNC Charlotte is a state-supported institution, state funding does not cover the Belk College’s total budget. The difference is generated by student fees, investment income and private support. This funding is especially critical to the Belk College, as we strive to provide an outstanding quality business education and to compete with other top business schools.

Ongoing financial support enables the Belk College to recruit and support promising students; attract and retain top faculty; develop and maintain its curriculum; and pursue new opportunities. Alumni giving and participation rates are strong factors in business-school rankings, so your support also bolsters the reputation of the Belk College – adding to the value of your degree.

All gifts, regardless of amount, are used wisely and appreciated greatly.

Make Your Gift by Mail

If you prefer to send us your gift through standard mail, please make your check payable to “UNC Charlotte Foundation,” and be sure to designate the Belk College of Business as the recipient of your gift in the memo line. Mail to:

Take Advantage of Matching Gift Programs

Does your employer (or your spouse’s employer) have a matching gift program? Corporate matching gifts can double, or even triple, the value of your donation. Check with your human resources department to see if you or your spouse’s company has a matching gift program, or contact the External Relations team at belkrsvp@uncc.edu.

Donate Stocks or Securities

You may also make a gift of stocks or securities to the Belk College. There are many different options for transferring these assets, including mail, hand delivery, and direct transfer from your bank or broker to the University. Contact the External Relations team for additional information.

Planned Gifts

Planned gifts, including estate bequests, charitable gift annuities, or donations of real estate or other tax-deferred retirement assets, leave an enduring legacy for the donor at UNC Charlotte. Contact the External Relations team for additional information on making a planned gift to the Belk College.

Major Gifts, Endowments & Naming Opportunities

These significant contributions (generally $25,000 or more, which may be paid over a multi-year pledge) create endowed funds for the Belk College. Major gifts create long-term financial stability for the College and provide opportunities to merge donors’ interests with the College’s various needs and objectives.
