I am originally from Brooklyn, N.Y., but I have been living in Denver, N.C. for the past 12 years.

What high school did you attend?
I attended North Lincoln High School in Lincolnton, N.C.

When do you plan to graduate?

What are your career goals?
I plan on working as a business analyst in the future.

In your opinion, what are the 3 best things about UNC Charlotte?
The programs and resources it has to offer.

The dorms are the nicest that I have seen.

The campus is beautiful. I personally love entering the campus through the northwest entrance at night.

Where is your favorite place on campus?
I don’t have one favorite place on campus, but the South Village Dining Hall, the Student Union and the Belk Gym are a few of my favorite places.

What is your favorite Charlotte restaurant?
By far, Maggiano’s Little Italy is my favorite restaurant. I could eat everything on the menu.

What is your favorite class that you have taken and why?
Dr. Amato and Dr. Buttimer teach my Business Analytics class. We have learned so much from each other and I always look forward to the discussions every week.

Tell us 3 random things about yourself.
The Dallas Cowboys and the New York Mets are my favorite sports teams.

When I was 13, my baseball team was one win away from playing in the Pony Baseball World Series in California.

Justin Timberlake is my favorite artist. I have seen him in concert 3 times.

Christopher Jorgensen is in the prestigious Belk Scholars Program, in which he will receive a bachelor's degree and master's degree in five years with specialization and training in business analytics.

What major(s) are you pursuing and why?
I am pursuing the  B.S. in Business Administration degree with a concentration in Business Analytics because I love working with large amounts of data to develop effective and efficient solutions. In high school, I took mostly honors and advanced placement classes. I have always had an analytical mindset and loved working with numbers. Knowing this, majoring in business analytics was the right decision for me.

What is Business Analytics to someone who may not know and why is Business Analytics an important program to have in the Belk College of Business?
Business Analytics is the process of using strategies to collect and analyze large amounts of data. Analysts develop and execute solutions which will help an organization optimize their initiatives, outcomes and competitiveness. It is very important that the Belk College of Business offers this program as there is a huge demand for business analysts, especially in the Charlotte area.

Why did you choose the Belk College of Business/UNC Charlotte?
During my junior year of high school, I was looking at many colleges. At a UNC Charlotte school visit, I attended the Business Honors Program and Belk Scholars Program sessions. I knew these programs could give me opportunities and connections that no other university can. Once I was accepted into both programs, I knew UNC Charlotte was the university for me.

What activities are you involved in when not working or studying?
I am currently serving as the Freshman Class Representative for the Business Honors Program, a position that I was elected to by my fellow Business Honors Program students. My job is to be the voice of the Freshman class in the Business Honors Program and plan and conduct a community service event for the program.

What has been the best part of your academic experience so far?
The best part of my academic experience so far has been going to the Fall 2016 Economic Forecast with Dr. Amato at our uptown campus.
