UNC Charlotte’s part-time MBA ranks No. 1 among North Carolina-based public universities, achieving its best spot since 2020, according to U.S. News & World Report’s 2024 Best Graduate Schools rankings, which were released on April 9.

The Charlotte MBA, offered through the Belk College of Business, reached No. 45 (tie) among part-time Master of Business Administration ranked programs, up two spots over last year’s ranking.

"Our MBA program is highly competitive nationally, and plays a significant role in preparing successful business leaders, many of whom make their mark in the Charlotte region or the Carolinas," said Janaki Gooty, director of the Charlotte MBA program. "Faculty in our program bring extensive research and business expertise, which adds relevance and depth to what our students are learning."

With stellar faculty and established industry connections, the Charlotte MBA program is uniquely placed in one of the fastest growing and most dynamic business cities in the United States.

Charlotte MBA offerings also include the globally focused Dual MBA Program with EGADE Business School in Monterrey, Mexico, and the fully online MBA, which launched in August 2022. Housed in The Dubois Center at UNC Charlotte Center City, Charlotte’s MBA offers flexible face-to-face or fully online options for working professionals who seek to grow their careers. The program, the oldest and largest MBA program in the Charlotte region, has more than 4,800 alumni.

This is one of several recent accolades. For the ninth consecutive year, the Professional MBA has been named a "Tier 1 Global" program by CEO Magazine, listed among the best in the world for quality and return on investment (ROI). In the magazine’s “2024 CEO Magazine global MBA Rankings,” Charlotte’s online MBA also was ranked for the first time.

"Our continued achievements in external rankings demonstrate the quality and commitment of our faculty, our students and our alumni and friends," said Belk College Interim Dean Dolly King. "We have built deep connections within the community, which affords our students access to a strong network of alumni and other business executives."

For the latest MBA ranking, U.S. News factors in peer assessment; median GMAT and GRE scores of students; average student undergraduate grade point average; the total number of part-time students; and student work experience.

The MBA ranking was released as part of U.S. News’ 2024 Best Graduate School rankings. Including online programs rankings that were released in February, UNC Charlotte now has 19 U.S. News top 100 graduate school rankings.
