Dr. Mustafa Ciftci joined the Belk College as a visiting Associate Professor in Fall of 2018. He is an Associate Professor at American University of Sharjah in Sharjah, UAE. His area of research is stickiness in costs; the impact of asymmetric cost behavior on management earnings forecast and analyst forecast; accounting treatment, valuation and productivity of intangibles; the relationship between earnings quality and management earnings forecast; inventory policy choice and cost of debt. He has published in various accounting journals including Journal of Accounting and Economics, Journal of Accounting, Auditing and Finance, Journal of Management Accounting Research, Journal of Business Finance and Accounting and European Accounting Review. He received his Ph.D. in Management Science (with a concentration in Accounting) from The University of Texas at Dallas. He received his Bachelor degree in Business Administration from Istanbul University, Istanbul - Turkey.
