In June, the Charlotte 49ers unveiled a highly anticipated new brand identity, the first update to the athletics mark since 2000. The launch was the result of months of planning behind the scenes. Niner alumni and friends are invited to a behind-the-scenes look at the launch of the bold new identity. How was the "All-In C" developed? What was it like to launch during a global pandemic? How did the creative team work together? Get the inside scoop through Belk Talks Business, a virtual series for alumni and friends through the Belk College of Business.

Meet the Panelists: 

Mike Hill, Director of AthleticsMike Hill became the seventh director of athletics in Charlotte 49ers’ history in February 2018. He has hired six new coaches, a Deputy A.D. for External Affairs, an Executive A.D. and the Director of the Athletic Academic Center. He introduced a bold new look for the 49ers after an athletics brand assessment and has taken steps towards an athletics facility master plan. In addition, the football program has advanced to the program’s first bowl game and during the past fiscal year, the 49ers Athletic Foundation set a record for contributions to its annual fund. Throughout campus and the community, his belief in the 49ers has energized Niner Nation. Hill is Chair of the C-USA Men's Basketball Scheduling Committee and is also co-Chair of the LEAD1 Working Group on Name, Image, and Likeness.

 

Todd Aldridge '92Todd Aldridge '92 Creative Arts is Executive Creative Director for LGA (Luquire George Andrews). Todd leads concept and art direction for award winning media agnostic campaigns. With over 25 years in the industry he injects his boundless energy, illustration expertise and curiosity into looking for smart strategic solutions. A distinguish alumnus of the College of Art + Architecture, Todd graduated as Outstanding Senior in Art in 1992 from UNC Charlotte. 

 

 

 

Christopher Moxley '03 International Business is a Charlotte native and graduate of UNC Charlotte where he received an Excellence in Leadership Award from the Black Alumni Chapter and was selected as a Distinguished Young Alumnus by the Belk College of Business. Recently named as a 'Top 40 Under 40’ by the Charlotte Business Journal, Chris is a career financial services professional, currently a Manager-Compliance Officer at TIAA, and is also co-owner and partner in several businesses, including the award-winning Charlotte-based lifestyle brand, 704 Shop. He also serves on the UNC Charlotte Foundation Board of Directors, the Executive Committee and Board of Trustees of the Charlotte Regional Business Alliance, and the City of Charlotte’s Small Business Advisory Committee. Having started two needs-based scholarships at UNC Charlotte, Chris is passionate about philanthropy and economic mobility.

 

Rachel Skipworth's 20 years of experience in higher education spans service in roles at Faulkner University, Troy University and UNC Charlotte where she serves as the Bookstore & Licensing Program Manager. She oversees the university licensing program and is the liaison between the university and university bookstore. Rachel worked as a university fundraiser and recruiter for six years and has been working in Auxiliary Services for fourteen years. She previously served on the River Region United Way Community Impact Council and was part of the Chamber of Commerce Emerge Torchbearers Leadership Group. She received numerous campus awards such as the Troy University Employee Excellence Award and the Virgil Parks McKinley award (Highest non-faculty award given to Troy University staff members in recognition of outstanding work and service to the university and community).  Rachel is a member of the National Association of College Auxiliary Services (NACAS) and the International Collegiate Licensing Association (ICLA). She was  selected as a Mentee for the 2019-2020 ICLA Mentorship Program. During her career, she has had responsibility for bookstores, dining/catering, vending, campus mail services, card office, print/copy centers, Customer Service desk, Floater employees, and trademark licensing. Rachel earned her Criminal Justice degree from Faulkner University and earned her Master's in Human Resource Management from Troy University. Rachel is a native of Alabama and has lived in North Carolina since 2017. When Rachel is not on campus, she enjoys beekeeping, exploring new places, and attending athletic events.
 

Meet the Moderator: 

Scott Lieberman '12Scott Lieberman '12 Management serves as Vice Chair for the Belk College of Business Alumni Council and was previously the president of the UNC Charlotte Young Alumni Chapter. He is the co-host of Miner Obsession, a sports podcast dedicated to the Charlotte 49ers. Scott is a Relationship Manager at LPL Financial supporting partner communication efforts and partnership opportunities, with a focus on finding the best way for partner firms to connect with LPL Advisors via innovative solutions that drive maximum value. Before LPL Financial, he worked at TIAA in Information Technology and Human Resources. Scott has a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from UNC Charlotte and a Master of Science in Leadership from Northeastern University. In Scott’s free time, he enjoys attending sporting events, playing golf, and traveling.
