Best-selling author Daniel Pink to speak at UNC Charlotte Feb. 1

Tuesday, January 18, 2011

Author Daniel Pink will discuss his best-selling book, A Whole New Mind: Why Right-Brainers Will Rule the Future, at a free event for UNC Charlotte students, faculty and staff at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 1.

Seating is limited and tickets vouchers are required for admission to the event, which will be held in the Student Union movie theater. Ticket vouchers are available at ecom. A UNC Charlotte “800” number is required for registration.

Pink’s appearance is part of the NEXT speaker series from the Belk College of Business, which brings notable figures and thought leaders in business and leadership to Charlotte for programs focused on “tomorrow’s ideas, today.” The inaugural NEXT event, held last November, featured the authors of Freakonomics.

In addition to the campus event, Pink will speak at a public event on Feb. 1, at 7 p.m. at the Booth Playhouse (130 N. Tryon Street). Tickets to the public event are $40 each and include a networking reception with cash bar and light refreshments from 6:15 to 7 p.m. The public event is co-sponsored by the Arts & Science Council. Tickets and additional information are available at www.belkcollege.charlotte.edu/next.
