Dr. Kelly Zellars (left), professor of management, and Dr. Tammy Beck (right), assistant professor of management, have been recognized by Emerald Group Publishing as an Outstanding Author Contribution Award winner at the Literati Network Awards for Excellence 2012.

Drs. Zellars and Beck published a chapter entitied "Resilience: New Paths for Building and Sustaining Individual and Organizational Capacity," in Research in Occupational Stress and Well-being (Volume 9). The chapter was co-authored with Logan Justice, a Ph.D. program in the Organizational Science program.

The nominating editor commented, "Zellars et al. take an in-depth look at the role of resilience in occupational stress and well being. They examine literatures from a variety of disciplines to pull together the most comprehensive discussion of resiliency to date.  Further, they develop the concept of “resilience capacity which they argue is a key factor in recovery and growth. This capacity is developed through both internal and external protective factors and they offer three promising areas that may act as protective factors: leadership, job crafting, and humor.  This is a significant and important piece of research that is sure to generate a long stream of research.”
