Five Ventures business competition seeks business plan proposals

The Charlotte Research Institute is issuing a call for faculty, staff and students at colleges and universities in the region and early-stage and start-up companies to compete in UNC Charlotte’s Five Ventures™, an annual business competition and conference.

The conference is also sponsored by UNC Charlotte’s Office of Technology Transfer and the Belk College of Business.

Business teams submit business plans and visions for the next multi-billion dollar business and are judged accordingly. The top five winning teams present their ideas at the conference held this year on April 12. Business plans submitted for competition are due by March 1.

The top five finalists receive mentoring and services in accounting, intellectual property, legal services, public relations/marketing and financing. The winning team receives $5,000. The winning student team receives $2,000.

Registration fee to attend the conference is $100 and due by March 26. Business professionals from across the United States attend.
