UNC Charlotte economist John Connaughton will present his quarterly forecast for the North Carolina economy at a luncheon and press conference Tuesday, Dec. 7 at the Westin Charlotte (601 S. College St.). Connaughton's presentation begins at noon.
Connaughton, a professor of economics in the Belk College of Business, is a highly-regarded expert on regional economics and has closely monitored the N.C. economy for more than 20 years. His quarterly report addresses areas of optimism and concern among the state's economic sectors, considers national and global factors affecting the state economy and forecasts future performance. In his upcoming report, Connaughton will address the role of job growth in the recovery, and where new jobs will originate.
The forecast presentation is free and open to the public. Reservations are requested before Thursday, Dec. 2 to events. Lunch will be served beginning at 11:45 AM and vouchers provided for complimentary parking at the Westin.
