Dean Lilly leads Arts & Science Council campaign

Arts group aims to raise $11.2 million, increase community participation

Claude Lilly, dean of the Belk College of Business, has been appointed chair of the Arts & Science Council's annual fund drive for 2007.

Leading the ASC campaign is considered one of Charlotte's most prestigious volunteer leadership positions.

Lilly's primary goal isto work with business and community leaders to raise$11.2 million for arts and cultural groups in Charlotte and Mecklenburg County. The campaign's other objective is to increase the ASC's supporter base.

Lilly has served on the executive board of the Arts & Science Council since 2004."The ASC's affiliate organizations have a tremendous impact on the quality of life we enjoy in Charlotte," Lilly said. "As a long-time supporter of the arts, I am honored to be leading the ASC annual campaign, and I am confident we will reach our financial and participation goals."
