Karina Franco joins Belk College as Director of Undergraduate Advising

Karina Franco has joined the Belk College of Business as director of undergraduate advising.  A native of Mexico, Missouri, she earned a B.J. in Advertising from the University of Missouri and a M.A. in Student Development in Postsecondary Education from the University of Iowa; she plans to complete her Ed.D. in Higher Education Administration from N. C. State later this year.

For the past seven years, Ms. Franco has held various positions in the William States Lee College of Engineering at UNC Charlotte, including director of freshmen advising; director of new student recruitment; director of the Maximizing Academic and Professional Success (MAPS) program, and Director of the Engineering Leadership Academy.  Prior to these positions, she served as a career exploration counselor in the University Career Center for two years.
